I'm in the final stages of getting everything together to send off my form i-751. However, I have a question regarding how to write my address on the form, and was hoping for some advice.

My husband and I live in an old apartment complex that a number of years ago had its address changed - the apartment number is the same but the street address changed. In most systems (e.g. USPS, UPS, FedEx etc) it's listed under the new address, but occasionally it still shows as the old address. This includes one of the bills I'm including as evidence with my form, as well as the apartment lease.

I'm concerned that if I send the packet as is with the two different-but-the-same addresses this will raise questions and lead to my form being delayed. So how should I address this on the form? Should I include a note on the covering letter I'm sending with my packet? Add the old apartment address under part 11 additional information?

Any advice would be gratefully received! Thanks.

Include a note in your cover letter.  Also, if there is any way to get a screen shot of the "official" address from the USPS site, that might help.

It can be a pain (not necessarily because of USCIS).  I live at xxx County Route 27, and the DMV records (and my Driver's License) show "xxx County ROAD 27".  Stuff addressed to County ROAD has been rejected by the Post Office before.  You'd think government offices could get it straight.  Oh.  Wait.  Government.  Never mind.

First off I don’t think they take the time to analyze to the degree you are thinking. If you have a lease with both names on it, then it’s evidence even if it’s in Kalamazoo. Same for a bill if it has both names to show joint responsibility.

I also am not convinced the cover letter survives the mail room to be seen by those adjudicating. I think the contractors opening the mail and organizing your file likely throw it away before USCIS employees see it. You can certainly apply without a cover letter. I did. Part 11 makes sense if you want to explain the address glitch and have it a permanent part of the physical application.

Thanks. I've decided to add a note into part 11 explaining that the two different addresses are the same. Hopefully that will help to clarify things rather than make them more confusing!
