In 485, the questions were:

* Have you EVER been arrested, cited, charged, or detained for any reason by any law enforcement official?

* Have you EVER committed a crime of any kind (even if you were not arrested, cited, charged with, or tried for that crime)?

I truthfully answered No.

In N-400, the question is,

* Have you EVER committed, assisted in committing, or attempted to commit, a crime or offense for which you were NOT arrested.

I am taking the route of being super honest, and disclosing professional associations and college clubs.  I have never had a traffic ticket, but I have been officially warned once.  This was before I submitted I-485.

This is where I state Yes, and explain that "I received a traffic warning for not using a turn signal in 2016 in XXX, South Carolina, but was not cited or arrested".  Right?  I'm not weaving a strange web of lies and confusion?

Should I just omit this whole thing and call it a day?  I don't have any records of this happening or anything.  I'm not even sure it was in 2016, but somewhere around there.

And by the way, I hear everyone is adding their traffic tickets and it's weird not to have any traffic tickets (assumed you're a liar!), so this is why I'm grasping at this particular straw.  If I should just get over it and say No, maybe that's the way to go.

What do you mean by officially warned once? Did the officer give you any note or paper work?

Yeah I got a thing that looked like a ticket but it was a warning. I've received a warning once before, while in the US as a tourist, but it was a verbal, "don't do it again, drive safe" and that's it. In 2016 or so, I got a printed paper that said warning, and it had our names (mine and the officer's) and it stated the date of the offence, the offence--not using a turn signal at a stop sign--and a little message to drive safe and not to schedule to appear in court because it is not a citation. I have no idea where that thing is, I'm sure I threw it away shortly after.

I’m all for being honest! It’s the way to go…I even added a ticket from 2003 and then in 2020 I requested & received the evidence from the court that the ticket had been paid. No issues at all after the application submission and was not even discussed during my interview. So what is there to lose by being honest?

I just don’t think this is what they mean with that particular question. Why?

“or offense for which you were NOT arrested”. Is what you did an offense worthy of arrest but you got away with it? Now if you had robbed a bank and was not arrested then you should say “yes” and add details 🤟

I also decided to be honest about my administrative ticket I went to court for in 2003 (never arrested). Had no records or disposition. USCIS agent told me it did not come up on their background check. Yet, since i mentioned it, they demanded paperwork and disposition before making decision. Went to Circuit Court and they pretty much said i was an idiot, like why did you even bring it up to them ? Had to file FOIR request to lookup any records under my name, none was found (got emailed letter). So, yeah, be prepared for something like that. I am pretty sure they will make me run around hoops to obtain more proof this time as well when n400 interview comes up.
