A few questions for those who have recently interviewed:

1. I read they use a tablet/iPad for reading/writing component. Do you have to type for the written or do they give you a stylus? Can you ask for pen/paper (asking for my mom…she makes tons of typos on her iPad)

2. For reading/writing did they only ask from them USCIS vocabulary list or could it be anything ftom

the application?
3. do they fault you for spelling errors in the writing test?

thank you!!

1. They had an iPad and a pen to write on the iPad screen. You can ask for a pen and paper max. they can say is no.

2. They asked me to read "What do we pay to the government?" and to write "We pay taxes."

3. I believe they do but I am not 100% sure.

Spelling errors are not a problem as long as they can see you understand the word. My experience and reading others here is that the writing test is often just a simple 3 or maybe 4 word sentence with no real complicated spelling. The biggest part of the English test is the spoken conversation.

Wanted to update this in case it helps others:

1. I got a tablet with a stylus for writing. Parents had pen paper by default. Writing with a thick stylus end is difficult so I would suggest asking for pen paper if not comfortable with that.
2 & 3. the writing vocabulary was from the booklet. The sentence was fairly easy for us. My parents were very worried about spelling and capitalization errors etc. but they both passed first sentence.
