Hello all,

My I129F petition was approved on June 6th 2021 and my case was at nvc shortly after. I know it hasn’t been long but I’m just confused why is it held at nvc when the us embassy in Ankara never stopped processing k1 cases.

can you guys please help me understand?

thanks,

A careful read of Ankara's website would contradict that assumption.   It clearly indicates that they are only doing emergency k interviews and are not doing routine interviews.

YMMV

“Unless there is a genuine humanitarian or medical emergency, the U.S. Embassy in Ankara is unable to provide visa services to TCNs who do not have valid Turkish resident permits.” This is on their website so my understanding is this applies on TCNs

The above is as of Feb 4th, prior to that no k1 interviews were being conducted,  which means an almost 1 year backlog upon resumption of limited services.

YMMV

Approved petitions sit at NVC until the consulate requests delivery.
