Part-time mentorship work on H1B visa

Hello,
I am currently on H1B VISA and would like to know if I could do part-time mentorship for an Indian company on weekends and get paid in India, will that affect my US visa?
I will be paying taxes for that job in India.

It's tricky because you are working in the US but you are working for another country and getting paid in another country. It's kind of a gray area. If you were traveling there and doing the work there, then it wouldn't be an issue.

You need to find out if you are considered a US resident for tax purposes and if so what the effect on your taxes owed in the US on your worldwide earnings.

Technically, no, you cannot.  The income earned, despite being in India and in Indian funds, is considered US sourced income because to work was performed while in the US.  That work isn't covered under your I-129, either.  You'd need a separate H1B to be filed in addition to your current visa.
