Entering Russia Via 3rd Country

My fiancee is having to have surgery in a few weeks so I was wanting to go over to Russia and help her out with her recovery. Is it possible as American to enter Russia on my Tourist Visa through a another country? Or is it completely shut down to US citizens 100% at the border no matter what country you come from. Tried googling information and there is no real clear answer.

Unfortunately no I don’t think so :( you will be using your US passport to enter with that tourist visa. It doesn’t matter which country you enter from since you will be using that document to enter. I think only what they classify as close family members with valid visas can enter right now. 

Found love, thought I wanted this path, two years later realized my partner was not worth all the stress 😁

Maybe you could consider getting married so you could be allowed to enter to help her? Although you would be starting visa process over and it looks like you’re so close to the end it’s hard to say if that’s best. I’m sorry!! Such tough times right now.
