I have received my approval from USCIS. I gave NVC a call and they said Ghana is not processing K1 visas at this time. How true is this and does anyone know when they will start processing?

True due to pandemic.   Routine processing will resume when they deem it safe to do so.   You are faced with a one year backlog so it likely won't be very soon

YMMV

Ghana embassy is processing a limited amount of visas, if you go their web site, I just google Us Embassy in Accra , you can check the status of what they are doing, towards the bottom of the page click on Visas and it will give it update. It is true as the last comment mentioned, there will be a very long wait time. Once Uscis approves your application ,  you then move to Nvc which is where they  will complete the rest of your process, once all of your documents are approved then they will forward your information to the Embassy which is where the Visa is approved or denied. Nvc moves pretty quick, all things considering it only took a couple of months for me, but with the pandemic that of course may slow them down. Our documents where approved on 2/21/20 and we where in line for the Accra Embassy appt but they stopped March 17 2020 and for some dumb reason they  can't figure out how to operate during a pandemic, although the cases in Accra are not that bad, and ALL other government offices are open there...go figure immigration offices can't figure it out. We have been waiting for any interview since 2/20  :( The good news ...they are processing interviews, I've see here users had appts all in March this year, even one has an appt 4/12/21, however these are either appts that where cancelled in 2020 due to Covid or expedited cases. Sad news , you have a TON of people of ahead of you, the wait will be quite a while, prepare for a year or more.

From the embassies website.

Important Note for Current and Future Visa Applicants

The consular section of the U.S. Embassy in Accra continues to operate with reduced in-person staffing and is scheduling a limited number of visa appointments for qualifying applicants. The consular section is processing a limited number of Immigrant Visa (IV) applications according to priority date and presidential proclamations for immediate relatives of U.S. citizens, other family members, essential workers, and returning residents, along with a limited number of emergency Nonimmigrant Visa (NIV) applications.

My friend had an interview two weeks ago for k-1, and he was approved. However, his original interview date was April 2020. They are doing interviews for k-1, but they’re moving extremely slow and processing people who was canceled last year.
