I saw this same stuff in Davao City a couple years before Duterte decided to run for President, I thought there was no way in the world the mayor from Davao City would ever get elected President, even much less run for the office

So here we go again, I think now she has a great chance to win and if you followed her career in Davao she walks in her father footsteps in terms of politics.  If she get elected the country may be shut down for many more years.

It is not yet confirmed if she will run as pduts wants Bong Go to run.As a former resident of Davao City,  I can say she is more strict than her father, more fierce and more stubborn. She has listens to what her father has to say but in the end,it does not dictate what she wants nor impose.

We will see...

I don't think Sara has the national notoriety her father did before he became president save for being his daughter.  She might be viewed by some as a continuation but I don't know if that's enough.

She will ride his coattails, if you have followed her politial career in Davao that is how she became mayor there.

I still can't believe Duterte a small time mayor from Davao City became President, especially with his reputation and his death squads he ran in Davao, but he has been President now going on for 6 years come 2022.

That was exactly why he was elected.  During the election he said that if elected, people would die.  Honest anyway.  Before the election I told my wife there were only 2 choices, Duterte or more of the same ol same ol.

Davao City has always been looked down on from Manila area, like a little province city.  Then given Dutertes hard nose approach I figured he wouldn't get elected.

So I think his daughter will ride his coat tails into the Presidency for 2022.  Duterte seems to be rather popular in the Philippines now of days..

As a former resident of Davao do you like what she has done for Davao City?

I don't.  The 24 hour liquor bans, killing the hotel and entertainment sector of Davao City with her lockdowns, curfews and forced business closings. I understand Marco Polo Hotel has shutdown, and most of the bars/clubs are shutdown for a year now.

Now the last few years Davao City is nothing but a traffic jam 6 days per week, and all the freaking beggars all over the place, I no longer care to go there, I used to love Davao City, no longer.

TBH I really like her as a person but I don't know if she is the right person for the job. She is much more strict than her father but from what I know of her she looks after her people. She seems to be more of a Western centric person than her father as well.

I still remember the video of her beating up that cop right before a squatters community was demolished in the city
