Got a reply from the consulate

I got a reply from the consulate on 23 February 2021 that my case has been reviewed. This is after I had my interview in Oct 2019 which I was asked to bring 2018 irs tax transcript. I did after two weeks but was placed on Ap ever since until I got this.

Now,

I was asked to send the marked items on the paper like form they sent to me, which include my passport, police report, medical, signed affidavit of Support and a 2019 irs tax transcript.

They also sent additional information that states that if I were asked to get a joint sponsor for Affidavit of Support during the interview that I can get it from a us citizen or a legal resident of the United States.

My question is can we still go ahead and get a joint sponsor even though I was asked at the interview to get just 2018 tax transcript. My wife suggest that we should get a joint sponsor just incase if it comes out she doesn't earn that much. And that she doesnt want thus to be a back and forth process. She is a nurse assistant and makes about $45,000 annually. I don't know how much she will now earn after deducting tax etc.

Can we still go on and find a joint sponsor and attach to the documents embassy required/asked?

Attached is what the embassy sent

I would get a joing sponsor, just to be sabe. You might make above poverty guidelines, but if it not by too much the Officer can deny you. Ultinately it will be the Officer´s dicision. If they suggested you get one, and you want to play safe, then I would definitely go ahead and get a joint sponsor.
As for the other documents they requested: get them all.

Also, fill out your timeline to get embassy-specific replies.

Good luck!
