Hello,

Does anyone know when US Embassy in Islamabad Pakistan will resume the immigrant visa processing. I spoke with NVC for my parents case which were filed and approved completely in July 2020. They said, I have completed all the paper work and now they are just waiting for embassy to resume their interview processing. Have anyone in this forum received interview letter in 2021?

According to the website they are already open for IR visas. If your parents were DQ in July (remember embassies closed in March) they are probably a few months down the queue for scheduling.

The United States Embassy in Pakistan has resumed interviewing immigrant visa applicants who are immediate relatives of U.S. citizens.  We continue to interview other immigrant visa applicants on an emergency basis.  For more information on seeking an emergency appointment for an immigrant visa, please review the NVC Contact Information.  The Embassy will expand our routine immigrant visa services as changes in resources, local conditions, and relevant laws and regulations safely permit.

This is extremely helpful. I guess the person I spoke with in US Embassy Islamabad Pakistan, did have clue that the immigrant visa processing has been resumed already. I really appreciate your response.

But they are saying march 2020 not march 2021.

Yes, that was what I meant. If you re-read the post: you said said DQ july, and I was referring to what had happened a few months before that. (Hence why your case is a “a few months down the line”)

Oh ok. now i understand. I thought you are talking about march 2021 so i became a little confused. Cuz now this month covid is spreading quickly and there is a fear of closing everything again.I was expecting my il this month but nvc did not issue il's in march for month of april for ir1 cr1 categories and we don't know what is the basic reason for doing so, Is that covid or something else.
