Hello all,

Ive been a lurker for 5 years and my spouses visa journey is complete.

Little back story, we met in Japan in 2012 in Oct, got married in 2015 and i started the spousal visa after that. She made it to America in 2017 but the military sent me on deployment. Her green card expired in 2019, and we got the extension letter and the extension letter expired.

Ive never been to my spouses interviews prior due to military conflicting shedules.

Anyway, i got a month notice for the interview. It had a laundry list of things to bring.

Immigration interview is scheduled at 7am, the place didnt open until 7. We waited an hour and got called in. The only issue is they screwed up my new address.

also they asked how to pronounce my wives first name FNU. Im not joking.

Heres how we won. We have two different banks, so i gave them bank statements, every month until 2017. Every credit card statement until 2017. All leases until 2017. The paper work was 6 inches thick.

She didnt ask a single question. Mission complete.

If you dont have your spouse on your finances yet, you are making it harder.
