Hi all,

May be getting ahead of ourselves here in the process but had a tax question. I entered the US last week on Thursday (02/11/2021). I had my last working day on the 10th February while I was doing quarantine in Mexico, but I am still technically employed until the 5th March (basically had 3 weeks vacation which I saved and am taking off). I wanted to know for when my (future)wife and I file a joint tax return next year, will I be required to list my February paycheck, as technically I received salary for days I was in the US even though I wasn't working? Also, the only form I know of as a tax summaries in the UK are the P45 (you get this when you leave, but it lists ALL the money you earned while employed), or the P60 (tax summary of the tax year, April 2020 to April 2021). What's the correct way of declaring my UK tax for the year 2021?

Sorry if this is a confusion question, but thanks in advanced!

If you file 2021 taxes jointly with your spouse then you're going to declare all worldwide income. You don't need to show any documents from the UK, you just need the numbers for the 2 months and you will probably fill out 2555 to exempt this income.

Great, thanks!
