I have been greatly moved by his sacrifice, in a way that utterly surprised me. I watched the events of 1/6 like many others, and had no idea of the totality of the madness that day until the dust had settled. Officer Sicknick is a hero. He gave his life to defend every one of our elected representatives in the upper and lower houses, as well as Vice President Pence.  I know his politics were different than mine, but that means nothing to me. He is -- was -- is -- the very best of us.

Requiescat in pace, indeed.
