Hello everyone,

My wife had her IR1 interview on 01/06/21 at the US embassy in Islamabad.  After completing the interview the agent told her she was approved and should receive the visa within 2 weeks and was given nothing asking for additional documents.

Two weeks have passed and when I checked CEAC status this morning her status had changed from Ready to Administrative processing. She was not asked for any documents and when I try to submit an inquiry they say I have to wait 60 days?  Any guidance or help would be great!

All cases go through administrative processing after the interview.  Visas are not approved until after the administrative processing is complete.  Unfortunately, some cases require extended checks before final approval.  This is common for Pakistani cases.  The process could take days, weeks, or even many months.  Since administrative processing cannot be waived or expedited, you will just have to wait for the status to change to issued.  Hopefully, that will be soon for you.  Good luck.
