Hey all,

My N400 application was rejected today because of my bank declining a payment. I used direct bank deposit instead of a cred card and I really don't know what happens. I have enough money in my bank account and I made sure routing number and account number were correct. I guess my bank declined the payment!?!

What should I do now? Refile or wait for the NOA with explanation of what to do?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I would probably wait for the NOA just to make sure, hopefully they will post it soon.

I would suggest when refiling, use your credit or debit card. The banking error could be due to anything.... Good luck

Paying with ACH for something like this is pretty uncommon in the US (I know it's more common in Europe).  A typo in either the routing number or acct number would cause a rejection.

I'd suggest waiting until you hear back about how to remedy it.  Use a credit card.

So I have to pay a fee of $30 because the payment was rejected and send a new application and all the same thing I did before. I'm kind of glad that it got rejected because I just notice that I've made a mistake and now I can correct that mistake in my application.

The reason why I used ACH it's because I had situations when my credit card payment was rejected by the bank and I know that ACH is more of an easy system. I think I made a typo in my account number and that was the reason of rejection. All good, I'll redo my application again tomorrow.
