Hi all,

I'm working on filling out the i-129f now and have a couple questions I was not able to find a clear answer to elsewhere about the address and employment history.

For address history

- Is a small gap a problem? For instance, if my partner has a one month gap where he stayed with a friend between two longer term living situations in the past 5 years, does that need to be included?

- Is it ok if the dates are estimates? We're struggling to find any evidence of specific dates of move-ins/outs.

For employment history

- Does this need to include every small job over the past 5 years? My partner has had a number of short-term gigs (e.g. working an event for a single day, or a two week gig, or something). This could get excessive and we very likely may miss some things. Would it be a problem to only include the more significant jobs?

Thank you in advance!

For address history, do not have any gaps.  Estimates are acceptable if you don't have exact dates.  There should be a chronological chain of all addresses.

For employment, answer every question as accurately as possible.  I would include all jobs.

@Luck Cat - thanks for the response. We'll do our best to get all the jobs we can manage.

I do have one more question about the employment piece. How should I manage remote work (where I lived in a different location than the address listed for my organization)? I have a few instances of this. Will this be an issue when they see that my company address does not match up with my address of residence of the time? Or does it not matter?

I don't see an issue.  Good luck.

The best advise that we can give you is to "literally" answer the question as asked. Try and not read into "what you think" they are looking for. With any history questions do your best to answer with approximate dates. There are particularly good chances that you will not receive a denial, but you may get an RFE (request for evidence) asking for additional information. At that time, you can address any problems that have occurred during the adjudication process.
