Timeline

Usually 4-6 weeks after the N400 is submitted.  Biometrics appointments will depend on your local office, and I doubt walk-ins are accepted during the pandemic.  Personally, I would wait until you do the biometrics before heading overseas for an extended period unless you are able to get back quickly.

Good Luck!

What is your processing office?

Don't focus too much on that. Within a same processing office outcomes can be different especially now with covid. Yes! some people have been waiting for biometrics since March, and some since February, but that's not the norm. Some people filed in April and have had the whole process done and oath taken. Don't base your decision just on the fact that someone may have been waiting since March.

My N400 NOA date is Feb 28th, 2020, and my biometrics was just recently taken on Nov 30th due to COVID reschedule. It took 9 months to get the biometrics done for me in Dallas office.

When should I expect my interview will take place? 12 months since the filing, or 12 months since the biometrics? How does USCIS recently estimate the waiting time for the interview, since filing date, or since biometrics?
