I submitted a Form 824 Application for Action on an Approved Application or Petition to have my wife's I-130 sent to the NVC to forward to Bangkok. The envelope was received on November 2, and the $465 check has still not been cashed.

I know there must be a huge backlog, and I'm not expecting the form to be processed for at least a few months, but I thought the check would have been cashed by now (It's been 10 days). Is this normal?

So, I made the above post nearly a month ago. Still no NOA1, nor has the check been cashed. I submitted an email inquiry to the lockbox email account, but they say they don't reply back to questions regarding NOA's. Not really sure what to do at this point... do we keep waiting, or should I stop payment on the check and resubmit?

Hi,

We has our cheque cashed December 31st and we had our receipt notice number attached.

we sent our application out on 26th October and they received on the 29th so we’re a few weeks before you. It seems you may not be too long away from you receiving the same

Sadly, it looks like this has been happening to most people who applied from November on.

This has something to do with the huge backlog they’ve got nowadays.

Recommendation: hit them with messages and keep yourself in the loop.

Update:

Check cleared on 2/1/21.

So 3 full months to get the payment processed.

This is a huge relief as I know the paperwork isn't lost.... let's see if the NOA1 comes in a timely manner from here.

Thanks for giving us heads up.

So many readers have been experiencing such delay and have been getting frustrated because they’re left in a much silent limbo.

Update:
Received NOA1

Notice Date: 2/1/21

Received Date: 11/2/20

So it looks like priority dates are being assigned as the date it was actually received, not the 3 month delay. This is good news for all of us in this situation.

7 1/2 months after submission and there's been no activity.

We're so dejected at this point... Our journey started almost 5 years ago and there is no end in sight. At least we've been able to be together, but everything is just hanging over our heads so much.
