Hello all and cheers.  :) Hope everyone is safe and well.

We are at the NVC stage.  We have been exhaustively trying to get a birth certificate corrected for my Indian husband who will be interviewing in Frankfurt, Germany.  We are able to find his birth record on the Indian government website (it has his mother's name wrong, father's name is correct, it does not have his name at all). It was common in the 1980's for parents to not have decided the child's name at time of birth.  His birth was registered though and it has the hospital name.  I have a copy of this birth certificate with the registration number and all (it is authentic). We are trying to add his name now (35 years later) and trying to correct his mother's name. ----I have a feeling like this will go nowhere. We have contacted multiple individuals in authority (collectors, health inspectors, birth certificate issuing authorities in the region). We received a letter from the regional government that it has temporarily stopped correcting birth certificates and issuing name inclusion on the birth certificates until the central government (Government of India) says its ok to start those services.

I read the instruction on NVC website for unavailability of civil documents and it says- to include the unavailability of birth certificate letter at this time from the issuing government authority + notarized affidavit from parents or either one stating the birth details of the applicant.  Thinking to also upload the incomplete birth certificate that we have at hand. ----all this to NVC

Any suggestions, any advice, thoughts/opinions, comments are welcome. :) I am open ears.

**I am worried how this will go with CO during interview even if it goes through with the NVC with the explanation.

Thank you.

Thank you.

It looks like you have done all you could. Provide the same explanation to the CO as they should have come across others in similar situations.
