Greetings all,

 

My spouse recently had her interview at the Embassy/Consulate (10/19) and her visa was approved. The officer kept her passport and told her to wait to pick up her passport. Today (10/21) her case is in "' necessary administrative processing". My question to all you folks out there is, is this normal after an interview? And my second question is, how long does it take to change to "issued" and her passport is ready? I know in some cases its different and online it says about 3-4 days, but I thought I would throw it out there and see what kind of replies I would get. Again this is for an CR1 visa at the US Embassy in Beirut.

Everyone goes through some form of AP.  It is unavoidable

Since this is Lebanon the AP can be extensive with additional security checks

this is from the US embassy page:

 

 Every prospective traveler to the United States undergoes extensive security screening. ... additional assessment to determine whether they are eligible for a visa.
