I am preparing N-400 online. The online asks the following question (below in bold) which I answer as 'No' as it's our only marriage for my wife and myself. When I preview the generated PDF N-400, I see the Part 10, Question 8, "How many times has your current spouse been married" gets registered as 0 (zero). The online system is doing it and we have no control over it as we don't directly input it, though we always thought this answer should be 1 (that includes marriage of my wife to me). Do I need to be worried about this or can do anything about it?

Has your current spouse been married previously?

Thanks for your comment and I agree. However the confusion is the question N-400 online wizard asks and the question in final N-400 PDF are not exactly the same. I always thought people answered with "1" to this Part 10, Question 8, "How many times has your current spouse been marriedwhen they paper filed for those who had only one marriage (i.e. to their current spouse only). Hence the confusion.

As long as you answer the online question correctly, and during the interview, they'll make sure to ask this question. I don't think we need to check the final PDF forms on our side.

There has been a known error in this portion of the system. According to the IO it always reports that number back incorrectly. They will change it into the correct number during the interview. Answer the questions on the page correctly and don't worry too much about the displayed numbers.

This was hella confusing for me because both my husband and I have been married previously and I just gave up and left whatever the number was on there (I think it was 1?) and turns out it was wrong and they just fixed it at the interview.
