N-400. File as spouse (3y) or file as individual (5y)

Hi guys. If you’ve become LPR via marriage you are eligible for n400 after 3y.    If you wait  and file once you’ve been LPR for 5yrs can/do you file solo for n400 or do they still want spousal info like they do when you file after only  3y of being LPR ?

You won’t need to provide all the same volume of information/proof that you will for the 3 year rule (you won’t need to prove residing in marital union, etc), but if you got your green card through marriage they can still ask questions about that to confirm that it was bona fide, same as they can revisit whatever route anyone else got to their green card.

Perfect.  Plus under this scenario my spouse doesn’t need to take a day off work to come to the interview. I’ll make sure to bring backup of bona fide marriage in case they ask for proof.

Spouse have to come with for the interview when selecting the  3 year ??

Can one apply under the 3 year rule if it is easier?  For example, person was frequently outside of the US for the first year or two, but then was in the US for the final 3 years - can they apply under the 3 year rule instead of the 5 year rule?
