Will they look at assets if the sponsor makes more than enough money?

Me and my husband filed everything today finally... Now the wait begins...

 

I do have a question, however. My husband makes enough to be my sole sponsor but I decided to add my assets (money in checking/savings) as I just thought that it would not hurt to add it, if anything it will just work in our favor. 

 

Will they even look at my assets since my husband makes more than 3x the minimum?

 

Not really a make or break thing, I was just thinking about it and got curious!

Never volunteer any unnecessary information when dealing with USCIS, they don't like it.

I may be wrong here, but if I recall correctly, if you include assets but your sponsor already makes way more than the minimum, the assets are disregarded.

 

But as NancyNguyen said, it's better not to pad out your packet with any superfluous information. Ideally, you want your packet to be easy to go through on their end.

I don't see why they would look at it if they make enough money? In any way, I don't see how it would affect us negatively anyway but maybe I'm just thinking about it wrong.

I am following this answer. I am currently unemployed but was told I need to file 864 as the petitioner anyway. We are depending on the sole joint sponsor 864 as financial support, and it is more than enough. Is that correct?

Yes. You will always be the main sponsor. Since you're unemployed, you will use a joint Sponsor that also needs to fill out a 864.
