Hi guys,

I red many posts on this topic, but I ran into contrasting information and I as I just got my AOS application rejected (because I didn't file the i-944 form that is not even required anymore!!), I want to avoid further delays before resubmitting it.

I got married in California this May and I changed my last name to my husband's last name.

So, now I wonder, should I file the AOS application using my "old" last name or the new one? Would the marriage certificate be enough as a proof of that?

The confusion comes from the fact that I know that the GC is a sticker applied on the passport (am I correct?).. And on my passport I have my maiden name, so I wonder wheather the "mismatch" could cause any problem.

Thank you all in advance!

Green card is not a sticker applied to your passport. It's an actual card.

Your legal name now is the one you chose after marriage, so technically you can't even apply with your maiden name.
