Hi Everyone -

I just wanted to tell you all how much I appreciate this thread because it has helped me to understand what is going on with Vermont. I know some of you filed since May - My petition was received by USCIS on August 24th. I realize I haven't been waiting as long as some of you but I truly understand why you all are frustrated. I am trying very hard not to get frustrated because it's only been 2 months for me. That's hard to do in itself when all you want is to be with the one you finally decided is "the one". Life is very lonely now - but I have to say coming here and reading all your posts helps to fill that void a lot. Thank you -

Mirla, I think by 'service inquiry' they mean call back when you are outside of their bs 6 month window.

If I were you I'd try to get your hubbie to call his congressman and tell him/her that he busts his a$$ for this country as a firefighter and he has to wait so long just to get his papers looked at? Maybe his congressperson will lean on them a little ...

:protest: Operation Chocolate update:

Reporter at the Washington Post said she'd put it in her article if we do it before it goes to print. I also asked her for advice on getting publicity for it. She suggested going to each website, CNN.com, Msnbc.com, etc. and looking for how they suggest contacting them about a story.

So if we do that all we need is a one page press release. Should include a catchy title, subheading, and short (under one page) description of what, why, when and how and to whom. Any volunteers?

After that I suggest we do it soon so we can get it in her article in the Post and maybe send that around with press release.

Any other thoughts? (this means you too Amrssnowangel)

I know what you mean...yeah, he's a full-time NYC firefighter....He got pissed off about this lady today, he was working and couldn't been on the phone for long, his captain was next to him and he waste 20 minutes with this stupid lady.....Anyways, I'm thinking about sending a letter to his congressman....I don't lose anything....

Can someone tell me again what's the procedures for calling VSC (what's their number btw) and get someone to talk to on line? I'm really fed up with the waiting. I'm on my 150 days at this point and it has never been 'touched' as far as I can see from USCIS website :protest:

Here are the steps for the RFE trick. It will get you through to talk to someone at VSC:

1-800-375-5283, 1, 2, 2, 4, 2, 1, EACxxxx, 1, 1.

Good luck!!!

What should I pretend to say after someone from USCIS get on the phone?

Tell them when you sent in your petition and that you haven't heard anything in a while and wanted to make sure there was no problem with your petition.

Good luck!!

Just called the USCIS and get a nice lady on the phone. Unfortunately I don't think she knows too much as she seems to give me the generic response. She told me all she can see on the computer is my case is still pending. There is no RFE or anything. My case is simply sitting there waiting in line to be picked up ........

She went on to say that the usual wait time is 6 months, and another 30 days for their adjustor to do the work. So I shouldn't have to contact them unless 7 months have passed ...... blah, blah, blah!

Not sure how much she said is the truth or she just simply reading from the script. Anyway, the whole waiting game is so frustrating and unbearable. What else can I do now?? :help:

I called today as well..was told they are STILL working May 21 week. (STILL???) Byrons situation corosponds with that. But the news wasn't encouraging. She said to give mine 30 more days (thats what they said 2-3 weeks ago) and that all this work could go past the 6-7 month mark. Just wanted to stop in and let you all know what I was told.

And Bill...sorry about my rant.

Welcome back. :)
