This doesn't seem very clear, neither does it give many details and I doubt the PH Gov. is just going to let people in on a whim. I am curious to find the Gov. official notice, including ALL of the guidelines and fine print and exact details.

Not a whim.  Open only to pre-existing long term visa holders and subject to an inbound priority and quota system.  All quarantine and testing needs to be coordinated before arrival to assure the port of entry has sufficient resources available

YMMV

Yeah, I read that part as well. I understood that much. My thoughts are the majority who have those are going to be business persons, etc.. but I meant any other details besides the few given in the article.

From my first hand reports it seems as if the Philippines has gone down in the toilet, like many other countries ,but Philippines has a lot less margin for error compared to 1st world countries.

The govt. has opened it eyes and knows they need to get business started, I hear the daughter of the Duterte was trying to keep Davao on severe lockdown but got over ruled by her father.   Now they have decided to give different grades of quarantines from what I have heard.

I think the Philippines will open back up soon due to the economic failure rather than finding a vaccine, and when  I say soon I am talking months away.  As always we will sit back and watch what happens over there.

Yeah, My fiance eluded to them splitting hairs in regards to the levels of Quarantine so as before there was ECQ, then there was ECQ, GCQ & "New Normal", then there was ECQ, MECQ, GCQ, MGCQ & "New Normal" and I guess now there is ECQ, MECQ (w/ High, Medium, Low), GCQ, MGCQ (w/ High, Medium, Low) & the designation of "New Normal" has been done away with.

So, as if everything there was not convoluted enough before now they are taking it to the next level lol

Yeah, I really hope they open back up, but unfortunately my thoughts are that my particular type of purpose for travel to the PH is deemed lowest on the PH Gov. list to allow and is on Par (in the Gov. eye's) with basic Tourism. As My fiance is there but I have no legal, business or financial ties to the PH. I think this will be the last designation they will ever allow for foreign national entry (And most likely only if they continue in desperation).

Currently, I believe they are still grasping at designating entry criteria group types which will identify minimal numbers which fall into said category with maximum probability of financial injection into the PH and also with probable minimal physical presence.

Yes, now they are grading it High, Medium and Low. How retarded is that?  When you think the Philippines has done something stupid they step up the plate and figure out a way to be even more dumb with all the classification of lockdown/quarantine.

It's almost comical to watch

Not panacea but a step.  Still no visas on arrival and still subject to quarantine

So, US Citizens have to get a visa beforehand now?

Why this for the profile pic?  Often in movies and on TV when they show Hawaii they show this beach/view. So, instead of doing Kauai or some other locale, we decided to do here, so that whenever some show shows Hawaii and this view, we will see where we were married.

Shucks...we were hoping to go for a short non-essential business-related trip this year. Oh well.

We loved the many years we lived there.

And no more Harrison Plaza Table Tennis Club...SMH.  Love those Guys.

Did not care for the constant need to get ACR cards, however.

Trips to BI were always a pain.

And the way the lady on Gil Puyat in Makati does the fingerprinting....HATED IT! She does it badly, and then blames YOU!

I felt like Rambo in First Blood...resisting the whole way.... hee hee
