When do you think routine visa services will resume?

When routine services resume, would it be on a country to country basis or across the board?  The proclamation to stop them was across the board so I'm assuming that, combined with lifting of travel restrictions, will cause them to resume?

 

Also, why are we still blocking the UK/Europe from entering the US when we have so much more community spread?  The fact we haven't lifted these restrictions and there hasn't even been a discussion about it, makes me think this is just an excuse to stop immigration.  What are we waiting for?  For the USA to have covid under control?  With how things are going, that could be next year?  It's very strange to me, for example, travel between Mexico and the US is allowed and not between UK and the US.

 

When do people think, things will resume?  Does anyone actually think that the August appointments won't be cancelled?  It's so difficult to plan life having no idea.

I think that is stretch.........Once the pandemic cools down, I would expect normal consulate operations and travel to resume.  The POTUS suspension of some visas is another story.  I don't think K-1s are affected by those visa suspensions.

Mexico and US border remains an up and down isssue

 

As Americans gear up for the Fourth of July holiday, its neighbor to the south has closed the border to non-essential travel between Arizona and the Mexican state of Sonora.

 

As for the embassies and openings :

It has been stated that each country and the US embassy in it will open when that country's government has deemed it ok so it will be a country to country issue

 

some embassies make a monthly statement relating to the issues while others like Australia make a weekly statement 

 

as for Europe ,  they can travel here but need to do 14 day quarantine in another country to enter 

why did EU block USC from travel to there /  because we have an increase in number of cases 

Brazil and Ecuador are also in trouble with an increase of cases of covid virus

 

I don't think anyone in government or business or here in VJ can predict what and how things will happen

Where has this been stated?  Maybe for embassies to open for non routine services.  Otherwise wouldn't NZ or other countries with low or no covid cases be processing k1s?  No one is from my understanding.  Sounds like that executive order from March would need to be lifted.

I believe some consulates have started processing spousal visas, IFRC.

Yes but that is not routine visa services which have stopped under the executive order from March.  i imagine that EE will need to be lifted.
