Hi Fwaguy. Is there a problem with "a half dozen or so different people" answering my question? Do you have any comments on the one way tickets vs. round trip tickets? Thanks for you help.

I think a half dozen or so different people have previously mentioned that your first impression on part two was wrong as it relates to a k-1 visa.

lol

Maybe your fiancee could go to a travel's agent, in person and have them setting the tickets for her, that worked for me, it was cheaper and more convenient.

No problem other than a half dozen people gave you the correct answer and you still seem to be somewhat disbelieving

YMMV

Hi NessaandCharles. Could you tell me approximately how much your tickets costs going through a travel agent?

"Stopped giving advice?" Because? Is there something wrong with asking more than 1 persons advice? You guys don't understand that I want to make sure I have the right answers? Ai! Ai! Ai! I do appreciate everyone's help. :)

:bonk: is right. This is not rocket science.

Buy whatever tickets are cheaper. I arranged for everything in the U.S. and it was easy. We both got round trip tickets - one for me (Miami-Rio-Miami) and one for my husband (Rio-Miami-Rio). Obviously he never went back to Brazil, but round trip was much cheaper for us.

The same day that I flew to Rio my husband left Manaus and we met in Rio about the same time.

It was easy for us to get seats next to each other on the plan to Miami (after the interview).

11/2004 - Met in Brazil

09/2006 - Apply for K1

03/2007 - K1 approved

04/2007 - Apply for AOS & EAD

07/2007 - EAD approved

01/2008 - Conditional Residency approved

11/2009 - Apply to remove conditions

02/2010 - Permanent Residency approved

11/2010 - Apply for Citizenship

03/2011 - Citizenship approved

07/2011 - Moved back to Brazil

It all depends on the date, and our cost was not only USA-BR-USA, it was hubby USA-CWB-RJ-CWB-USA me CWB-RJ-CWb-USA

Like I told you, ask your fiancee to go to a travle agent and figure out how much it's gonna cost, it'll be easier that way and it won't cost her anything to go there and ask.

I know, but that was the first hit on my google search...

And it is funny...

To the OP: Check out www.flycheapabroad.com.

There you can find good deals to fly to Brazil and back. But the trip from Brazil will be way more expensive than the one flying from the US. Even an one-way ticket will be reasonably more expensive than the roundtrip from the US.

Hi Reynaldo. Thanks for the info. Yes, I have seen this website and I agree with you that the trip to Brazil isn't the problem. It's the return trip to America that I've found is very expensive.

But if you are interested http://www.submarinoviagens.com.br/ appears to have very good deals. I have found 2 one way tickets from Brazil to America for approximately $2200.00 (taxes & fees included) after the conversion of R's to $'s. Take care.
