Good Morning-

My son's petition is at the Montreal consulate, approved. And we were hit with the immigration pause. F2A. He will be 19 this August. My question is: DO I need to naturalize before his 21 birthday in order for his petition to freeze? I'm in the Houston FO and things move slow here so I just want to know what my options are.

Thanks

Anna

If you naturalize he won't fall under the ban. Sounds like you have well over two years until he turns 21 so if you file now hopefully you'll be fine.

If elections this year turn out well the ban might be over by end of year and he might be able to move before your acquire Citizenship. If Americans choose to give Trump another term I don't see this being lifted anytime soon.
