"Our goal is clearly NOT to find a qualified U.S. worker ... our objective is to get this person a green card"

I watched it hoping it was some kind of spoof, but they seemed very serious and hell bent on using immigration law and employment law together to make sure US citizens do not qualify for any of the jobs that are advertised, while providing a how-to service to help employers get their person a green card.

How they can get away with this is beyond me.

I'm so dusgusted I could actually hurl!!!

At least the "immigration reform" bill, for all its millions of flaws and many inconsistencies intends to address this by hiking up the fees considerably so that US employers are forced to look to the US market before going overseas.

But seriously, if this was a joke video, they weren't for saying...

I didn't understand the context. Why was the goal to not find a U.S. worker?

Presumably so they can hire Indian workers at a lower rate (?)

Oh ok. Did they mention India? I couldn't make out a lot of what was said.

No, but since it was put out by that programmers' guild, and their usual gripe is Indian H1B recruitment, I can only assume that either the people in the video are talking about hiring Indian IT professionals or the programmers' guild wants you to believe they are.

The goal was to show how a company can comply with the law and still hire someone without a green card. Doesn't matter where they're from, they obviously don't want to hire Americans nor green card holders.

They want to hire a foriegn worker and sponsor him/her for a green card. They can not do that until they've legally demonstrated that they can't find a qualified US worker for the job. The point of the talk was to tell HR and managers how to demonstrate that (especially when it is not true).

Man is made by his belief. As he believes, so he is.
