Hello everyone!

My husband and I filed his AOS (from tourist) application in December 2019 and are now awaiting our interview and waiting for his EAD to be approved. We will be moving out of state (from VA to TX) in August and I was just wondering if anyone else had experience with moving out of state while awaiting their approval? We are hoping the his employment authorization at least comes before we move, but we anticipate the interview being scheduled for after we move.

Any opinions/advice or experiences with this would be great!

We moved from VA to MN during the AOS process, and of course, our interview was scheduled in Norfolk three weeks after we made the move.

If your interview has not been scheduled, it is very simple - you will need to send in an AR11 for I-485, your spouse should change the address for the I-130 and also send in I-865. Make sure you file a change of address with USPS as USCIS can take some time to update your address in the database.

In our case, I called the helpline, spoke with a Tier 2 rep, and on her advice sent in another package to the Norfolk office with a request to have our interview moved. It worked out fine, but we got our cancellation notice two weeks after the interview was originally scheduled, and a few months later we were scheduled at our local office.
