It's not necessary to enter shortened versions or nicknames, but definitely Maiden name, if applicable. 

 

In cases "fairly common including me" where a person does not use their name in a typical way, it can be helpful to note in space available, "Goes by....."  A famous example is J. Edgar Hoover the first FBI director, would complete an I-130 as HOOVER, John Edgar, but he could put under other names used "Goes by J. Edgar Hoover.  Not really necessary to mention he is known as "Ed".  (if he was...)

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
