Hello all,
My spouse has been in the US for almost 2 years now. We have moved to another apartment one time, and plan, in the future, to buy a house. I talked to an USCIS agent a year ago, and she said that address changes are not necessary for one who holds a green card.
However, this seems contradictory to what I’ve read online. Also, my spouse found a Twitter post that was talking about this very topic; someone stated that ICE can become involved if address changes are not reported to USCIS. This Twitter poster stated he/she received an email from the USCIS that verified the address change.
So… should I fill out an AR-11 form to update our address? The USCIS website makes it seem that this only necessary for pending cases, but now, I’m not so sure.
Thank you.
