Does anyone has any idea, if respective consulates are working on cases under 221g, where documents are being submitted.   I see no change, post I submitted the documents requested in 221g.  The status date changed twice, right after the documents were submitted on continuously for 2 days in February, however, since then, there's no status change and now under the uncertain times ahead - Covid-19, I am not sure, if the consulate are et all working on these cases or operations are completely shut.

I did notice, some people updated that USCIS is accepting applications and sending out NOA1, hence curious to know, if consulate is working on already submitted 221g cases.   Anyone saw any date change or status change during this period, do share their experience.

An RFE takes as long as it takes. After 60 days you can submit a case inquiry.

The length generally depends on the cause of the RFE. "Simple" RFEs (missing checkbox, missing letter of intent, etc.) generally take days to a couple weeks IMO. More complex ones (i.er. if verification of documents needs to be done) can take weeks or months. India can be problematic and we see it takes a bit longer there to adjudicate cases.

We are in a pandemic and the embassies are short staff. I am sure they are putting their resources on the most important tasks to be completed. No one can say with any certainty when your case will be completed. Keep checking CEAC for current states. BTW the fact that the case dates are changing signifies that someone is touching your case.

Thanks Greenbaum,

I submitted my response on Feb 7, and later I saw the status date being changed on 10th and 11th Feb.   Since then, there's no change.   As suggested, I'd surely send an inquiry, post 60 days, and hoping for the best.

Thanks

With so many state department consular employees repatriating to the US, I would doubt very much if routine visa processing is occurring.

currently US embassy in India is closed to all public and no application processing is done as of now. This includes No interviews. No 221g processing. No drop box processing. No documents collections and no pickup.
