Stepsons, I-130

I have completed the I-130 package for my spouse. Lots of added bona fide info. ( 99 pages in all) But for the accompanying I-130-s for my 2 stepsons, do I need anything besides just the forms, fee, and photo baggies? Should her prior spouses agreement to let the children go be useful? Any other suggestions?

The marriage certificate and pictures (if any) should be sufficient for your step sons. Once she is approved they will automatically be approved as well.

Marriage certificate AND the childrens' birth certificates.  The combination is evidence their mother is your spouse, and they are her children.  You need both to establish the relationship.  That's why both are listed IN THE INSTRUCTIONS for filing for a stepchild.

Dear crusty pushbrk. Yelling in all caps did make me go find , pg 8 item H. Stepparent/Stepchild: If your petition is based on a stepparent-stepchild relationship, you must file your petition with a copy of the marriage certificate of the stepparent to the child’s natural parent showing that the marriage occurred before the child turned 18 years of age, copies of documents showing that any prior marriages were legally terminated (if applicable), and a copy of the stepchild’s birth certificate.

Birth Certs, yes!

You just save us a lot more heartache, since we have already had a professionally prepared Fiancee visa denied at that same Sri Lankan US embassy she will have to go to again.  And they have completely and  repeatedly refused to tell us the reasons. So we got married. And if they do it again they can kiss this citizen goodby.

Good.  First, I replied to the person who neglected to mention the birth certificates.  The all caps, in this case, was only a few words, for EMPHASIS.  OK?  Good luck to you.
