We recently had our I-129F approve, as well as the I-130s. We have received the NOA2, and we know that the case is with the NVC. Trouble is, we do not know much else. I received a letter that was signed "Bureau of Consular Affairs" stating that the case was received by NVC and in a week it would be sent off to the Embassy in London. However, when i called NVC, the said that they still have it and we will eventually know when it has reached the UK, but will not specify how we will know, other than we my wife will eventually receive packet 3.

How did some of y'all find out where your cases were at this stage of the process? Will we receive any notices? We could use some help in understanding this stage of the process.

call NVC every day until you have your case number

once you have the case number call them until they say they no longer have the case and tell you that your Embassay has it :)

if you cannot get through the NVC call department of state they are more helpful and give you much more details about the case however you will need the case number to get the status from the department of state.

you will probably no longer receive any notices

Since you have the I-130 approved also if I were you I'd go with the CR-1.

K3s are NO way as good a visa as the CR-1.

May take a bit longer but doing so will save you BIGTIME hassels when you get to the US.

Just my 2 cents!

But at the same time "Been there done that".

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

This is probably not a good option for him at this point. When I130 and I129F are approved at the same time, I-130 is automatically kept with the USCIS while the I129F is sent to the NVC. It is then sent to the embassy after a few days for the K3 visa. The option to pursue CR-1 visa is only a good option for those whose I130 has been approved earlier than I129F.

I saved this so I don't have to re-type it three times a week.

I'm certain this gets explained several times a week but since last fall, the option of continuing the CR1 path when both the I-129F and I-130 are approved at the same time, for all practical purposes, DIED. Now, if you want a CR1 visa, you do NOT file an I-129F. Those who file both I-130 and I-129F petitions almost always end up having them married up and approved the same day. Then the I-130 is held for use with the AOS. Only if one clearly states with the petition (and they actually notice it) that they wish Consular processing, will the I-130 be forwarded to NVC. Otherwise you can file an I-824, pay an additional $200 and wait nobody can predict how long for the I-130 to move again.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...
Understanding the big picture is priceless. Anonymous

Miss My Husband,

This is exactly correct. The only way to know more is to keep bugging the consulate, asking "is it there yet?" (If you have kids, you know what kind of reaction this kind of question creates.)
