For my case( I was doing a K1) I called the NVC once a week until a case number is available. This is the fastest way. You have to have your information and the person getting the visa. So both benefitionay and petitioner names, birthdays, etc. Once they verify you they will check to see if it has been processed yet. Usually takes about 2 weeks, I think I had mine on day 16, but I have heard it can take a month or so. Once you have a case number you can work on the next steps for your embassy.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

Thank u so much so do I call to get the case number by me being the petitioner?

Yes.  But please don't start calling for at least two weeks.  They won't have it until then, and it just ties up resources.  I live on the west coast, and I found that the best time to reach a live person was late at night, close to the time that they close.

Yes, I called as the petitioner. They were always pretty nice when I called. They are on east coast time, and I always called when it was later on like a Friday night, or middle of the week later in the day to avoid a long wait on hold. First time you call ask them when's a good time to call, and they know when they are slower and a good time to call, and they told me the best time.
