Hi VJ freinds,

I have quick question regarding I-864 part 3 question 1.

My sister in law (permanent resident) submitted I-130 for my younger brother and its approved by NVC. I am going to submit I-864 as a joint sponsor. Last month I also submitted my elder brother I-130 and it would take approx 10 years to get his number for interview. My question is for part 3 question 1 should I select Yes in that part or should I choose No and put name for both of my brothers as  question 1.c. says I am sponsoring the following family members who are immigrating more than six months after the principal immigrant.

I would highly appreciate your help.

Key word in the question 1 of part 3 is SPONSORING .     Are you currently SPONSORING your elder brother (completed an I-864) ?

An I-130 is a PETITION

Thanks for your response. I just submitted I-130 for my elder brother and it will take several years to approve. I have not submitted I-864 for my elder brother. I am going to submit I864 for my younger brother and my younger brother wife is primary petitioner for him. So in this case would you recommend just select Yes in Part 3 question No. 1 and do not answer other questions?

Thank you for your help.

"Sponsoring" is present tense.  In the present tense, you are NOT YET sponsoring your elder brother.
