Hi everyone, I just received my EAD and will be resuming work on Monday. In Dallas there’s little to no public transport and my wife’s job is opposite from mine. Please does anyone know the cheapest weekly car rental possible? Thanks

Hi, I also live in Dallas. May I ask what part of Dallas do you live?  It's true that some parts do not have public transport but there are plenty of DART trains and buses; some parts such as North Dallas and South Dallas do have public transport. There is the DART bus or the train that travels throughout different areas of Dallas. Some go as far as Rockwall. It all depend on what part of Dallas you are living in. If you are saying there is little to no public transport I'm guessing that you could be in the Southwest Dallas area this is where Desoto, Cedar Hill, Lancaster, Red Oak and Glen Heights area and there are no buses or trains that run through here but there is Uber and Lyft.  I'm not sure who has the cheapest rental car service but you may can go online and compare prices of the rental car companies that are here. Hope this helps!

It will be cheaper to buy an old used car. Use it 1-2 years and then sell it when you can buy the new one.

Run some quotes on the big 3 (enterprise, Hertz, Avis). I needed one for a month and was pleasantly surprised. Getting a junk car and driving the wheels of it is usually way cheaper though.
