Well technically I moved to the US on December 28th.

 

Question is simple: what should I be doing for US taxes and filing now? I haven't had an income for a full month before I left the UK and I still don't have my (expletive deleted) SSN, so I've had no income in the USA either.

Were you living in the US at all in the past three years?

 

IRS has a substantial presence test to determine if you are taxable. Check it out here

The second test is if you were an LPR on Dec 31st ... which you were .. you could file a dual status return with zero income as LPR .. just means you have filed a return rather than assuming you didn’t have to. Just my thoughts ...
