Police certificate from another country

Hi everyone,

I'm submitting the civil documents for the NVC. I have all the required documents, but one thing is confusing me.

I lived in Uruguay for 10 months when I was 17. In the US Department of State website it says you need the Police certificate if you lived in another country for 12 months or more after turning age of 16. However in the online application in the section where I upload all the documents there is a section for the police certificate of Uruguay.

Does it only show automatically since I listed the Uruguayn address in my residence history? Can I click "Not applicable" and explain I only lived there for 10 months?

Thank you

You could try that and see what happens, or just call NVC.

You could try that. FYI we have seen a couple of reports of people being asked for police reports for 10-11 months of living in a country even though it is technically not required, so maybe confirming with NVC first is the best option.
