hello!
my husband's USCIS case was approved a couple of days ago and we are trying to gather all we can right now. We need a sponsor and I cant be it because I did not make enough money on the last 2 years, but a friend of mine is willing to sponsor him, but she just has one question. She will apply for citizenship in the next couple of months and she wants to know if being a sponsor will not effect her when applying for citizenship. thanks in advance

You will have to be it. The petitioner (you) is always the primary sponsor. If you are not qualified, you can get a co-sponsor (your friend)

No it will not affect her citizenship application.

Agreed - no impact on his naturalization.

CO's call based on a totality of the circumstances if they accept him as a joint sponsor or not. While technically any USC or LPR can be a sponsor, COs also look at the relationship between the people to determine if they are likely to actually provide support to prevent the beneficiary from becoming a public charge.
