I-864 and interview

Hi everyone,

 

I am confused about ORIGINAL financial documents. For interview they require all original forms and docs. As for the form I864, I filled it out on the computer and signed it on the computer also. Will it count as ORIGINAL even though I will just email it to my mom? Or do I have to print it and send it by mail? It might be a stupid question, but I do not want to the consular officer refuse her visa.

I-485 Adjustment of Status

03/31/2014 I mailed applications to Chicago lockbox
04/02/2014 Package received by USCIS
04/10/2014 E-notification paperwork received
04/10/2014 Checks cashed
04/14/2014 Hard notice received in a mail
04/18/2014 Biometrics app letter received for 05/12/2014
04/24/2014 Walk-in biometrics done at Port Chester, NY office( no problems at all, very nice people)
04/29/2014 My status online changed to Request for evidence
05/03/2014 got RFE and now status is stuck on Request for evidence response review.
08/26/2014 Status changed to Testing and Interview
08/29/2014 Got an email update interview scheduled for October 1st and paper notice sent out
10/1/2014 HAd our interview at Hartford,CT office. wasnt approved on the spot. 10/3/2014 Got an update that status of I485 changed to Card Production. Then at night changed to Decision. I 130 Post decision activity
10/09/2014 Status changed to Card production We mailed you a new card. You'll receive within 30 days
10/09/2014 Got a tracking number. Estimated delivery 10/11/2014
10/11/2014 Green card in hand!
Whole process took 6 month( thanks to RFE) :)

I-751 Removal of Conditions

9/16/2016 Package sent to USCIS Vermont

9/22/2016 Check cashed

9/24/2016 Notice of Action in the mail dated 9/20/2016

10/2/2016 Received a letter for Biometrics for 10/19/2016

10/14/2016 Early walk-in for biometrics in Port Chester, NY again like last time no problems

I-864 just needs to be hand-signed in ink, and than it's perfectly ok to scan copy it and email it to the beneficiary before the interview to print.

DS-260 Confirmation Handed to CITIC to be Delivered - 2019-11-12-2019

DS-260 Approved, received email to schedule appointment - 2019-11-20-2019

Visa Interview in Guangzhou (Approved!) 😁 2019-12-16-2019

Immigration Visa Issued 2019-12-17-2019

Thank you! I have read on USCIS site that it has to be signed, but doesnt need to be in ink. It can be scanned

If you don’t mind me asking, did your mom have her interview yet? And if she did what originals did they ask for at the interview in Moscow? My mom is at the nvc stage, we submitted all the paperwork, waiting for a review.

Yes, she did in January. They approved her visa on the spot. You know how they ask for double copies of everything? Well they said they didn't need it because everything is online. However, they did ask for all original. My mom had originals of her birth certificate, police clearance from Ukraine and Germany ( she was there for a bit over a year), dissolution of marriage, printed letter from email for interview,  her passport. And I think that's it. She made double copies of everything ( just in case, because they said online) and they didn't ask at all.

Congratulations on her visa approval!!! Luckily she had her interview before the new public charge rule. Just to clarify: they didn’t need the original signed affidavit of support, correct?

No, they didn't ask for it, they said it was online and that's it. 

 

Also, they asked for a sponsor on the site, but at the interview they didn't ask for anything. Obviously my affidavit of support was sufficient.

Thank you. Just waiting for NVC to review submitted documents and looking for health insurance policy for my mom right now.
