Certified passport copy in Kenya

Hi anyone from Kenya who went through the process of getting an ITIN help me out. 

Does the immigration give a certified copy of the passport or do you go to a lawyer who certifies the copy is a true copy of the original.

ITIN has nothing to do with immigration and passport

and immigration will not ceritify a  passport 

most of us just copy it and send with application

 

to any USC reading this ,   we are not suppose to do a color copy / even UPS or office depot will tell you this

I don't know anything about Kenya.  

You will need either a certified copy from the Kenyan passport office or send in the passport itself with the W-7 when you file your next US tax return.

Thanks however From the instructions of w7 you need a Passport for identification/the copy .  The copy passport should be a certified copy from the issuing agent.  

In  Kenya passport is issued by the department of immigration.

My question is do they give a certified copy?

I have no idea if they will give you a certified copy since I know nothing about Kenya.  Your other option is to send in the original passport with the W-7.
