Hey VJ family,

My husband and I have just submitted our documents to NVC and are now waiting for our case to be reviewed and get the interview scheduled.

I'm looking at what fees we have to pay next and am confused about the following two fees (if they're two separate fees, where you pay them, and how much they are).

The immigrant visa application processing fee for each applicant must be paid before his/her visa can be issued. Applicants whose fee has not been paid should be prepared to pay the fee at the interview or the visa cannot be issued even if the interview was otherwise successful. You should contact the U.S. Embassy/Consulate to understand what payment methods are acceptable.

We strongly encourage you to pay the USCIS Immigrant fee after you receive your immigrant visa packet from the U.S. Embassy or consulate abroad (including Canada and Mexico) and before you depart for the United States.

Does anyone know?

A lot of us know.

Immigrant visa application fee should be paid to NVC now and is $325

USCIS Immigrant fee is paid to the Uscis and is $220.  This us paid AFTER visa issuance and covers the cost to issue the green card

Thank you for your reply. Yes, I've already paid the $325 IV fee (you have to do this in order to upload/submit your documents) which we've down. Everything is currently paid and submitted.

The fee that I'm referring to comes after these steps - during the interview stage: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/immigrate/the-immigrant-visa-process/interview/interview-prepare/appointment.html I found the information under how to prepare for your interview appointment. This is why I'm confused about what fee this is - it mentions that applicants who haven't paid should prepare to pay it at the interview, which is how I know it isn't the $325 IV fee as that's required to be paid in order to upload documents to submit to NVC.

For some USC who living oversea and they do DCF, they pay $325 IV fee at the interview. You already pay for it, so there is nothing to worry.

The fees you listed are as I previously described.

What you are missing is the affidavit of support fee of $120

YMMV
