Interview Schedule Timeline IR1 Sydney

Hello,

 

As of last Friday I received an email stating we are ready to get an interview... which is great news!!!! Below is a copy paste from part of the email.

 

The National Visa Center (NVC) received all of the fees, forms, and documents that are required prior to attending an immigrant visa interview at a U.S. Embassy/Consulate General overseas.

NVC will work with the U.S. Embassy/Consulate General in SYDNEY, Australia to schedule an interview appointment for you. Once we have confirmed an interview date, we will send a notice to you, your petitioner and attorney (if applicable).

 

Does anyone have an idea on the timeline for when an interview would likely be? I have looked everywhere I know and nothing really gives direct info. I have seen that interviews are usually on the last Tuesday of the month. Is that true? Is there anyway or anyone to email to try and get an interview sooner?

 

We where hoping to get everything wrapped up by years end  but not sure as time is running out. My brother is having twins the second week of January and we wanted to be able to get home to Ohio for them!!

30-60days seems the lead in time for interview.. NVC should be scheduling December interviews right about now... if your lucky you might get in, but most likely jan don’t forget to add a couple of weeks onto that, to get your passport returned...

Hi, i'm assuming you've gotten yours already, but we got DQ on Dec 5, and our interview is feb 4.  we got notice about 3 weeks out from the interview

No, I just got declined again for AFP certificate 😡 they’re saying it’s the wrong one.. and that it has to be from AFP and it is! 

 

do you have a screen of your Aussie AFP you can post? Just to check it looks the same? Please 🙏

that's really frustrating, it's awful because they can be so vague.  i've attached it

It was with a supervisor for 2 weeks after being rejected for being wrong one, and hubby called this morning again rejected as wrong one.. quick shot of mine attached (taken now, uploaded version to NVC obviously better) how’s mine the wrong one?

does it have something to do with previously known as? do you need a police check in that name too?

Maiden name.. is previous name (me female) is fine is meant to show it

 

when name changed by marriage certificate has to show both names 

 

so I’ve got no idea now what to do

when you call they can't provide you with any info on what specifically they want?

They just kept saying it has to be one issued by federal police.. I’m like it is from federal police..

 

then they say no it’s not it’s from national police.. I’m like feds are national see says federal police criminal records on the right.. but nope they don’t want this one.. 🤷‍♀️

 

im just really confused now, no idea what to do

that is an absolute joke.  i would just resubmit it again. maybe someone else will see it. other than calling and harassing daily

Yeah, I think I will.. but is painful, thinking could be waiting for another 10 weeks to have it denied yet again.. 

 

hubby reckons he’s going to call them again in the morning..I showed him a ss of yours, then mine,. He’s as confused as me.. at this rate, I’m now looking at another 3-4 months before interview and was hoping to get it sorted by supervisor intime fore March interviews  😭😭😭
