After the Nebraska Service Center received our I-129F on May 16, they sent it to the California Service Center, which is strange, since my home address is in Ohio!

The CIS Case Status Online Page says they (California) sent out the NOA1 on June 4, which we have not yet seen (a long way from California to Ohio). The CIS processing times page says they are just now beginning to process K-1 petitions which were submitted in November 2006, which looks like a total processing time of about ten months, assuming they take three months to come up with an NOA2. The Visa Journey Graphs (Service Center Stats) show processing times of 90 to 120 days, or three to four months from submission to NOA2. I don't quite understand this contradiction.

08-28-2007 touched

09-04-2007 NOA1 received that CSC mailed three months earlier

10-03-2007 NOA2 sent from CSC

10-31-2007 emailed NVC, asked if they had gotten our petition

11-07-2007 NVC said they had it (didn't say when they got it) and had assigned it the case number OH2.

I can't believe we have a case number this short. They must have reached ten million and are

starting over at zero.

K1's get transferred to CSC. Mine did and I live in Georgia. I knew it ahead of time yet I still had to send it to Texas, which then forwarded it to CSC. It's just the way they do things...nothing you can do.

P.S. The Visa Journey Timelines page shows 1342 K-1 visas being processed in Nebraska. Dozens of these are current petitions. Are these petitions all actually being processed in California, or are just *some* petitions forwarded to California?

The same happened to our petition. Keep you timeline updated and you will get estimates... here are the current estimates on you timeline:

Based on timeline data, your I129f may be adjudicated as early as August 29, 2007*.

If this date has passed by more than 10 days or your application is past due per USCIS processing times then you should consider calling the USCIS to inquire on your petition. If you have been approved please update your timeline.

Yup all get transfered to CSC. Processing times are usually 3 months at CSC. The times on their website are just an average or times which are expected of them to complete ajudication I think.

I had seen somewhere on here that you should keep the service center on your timeline the same as the one that you originally filed at, even though Texas and Nebraska get sent to California. Don't worry too much, California has been speeding up lately. I got my NOA2 in 69 days after my NOA1.

Adjustment of Status / EAD / AP
Day 000: 2007-12-27 Mailed Application

Day 008: 2008-01-04 K-2 AOS Touched
Day 011: 2008-01-07 $1610 Check cleared

Thanks for your quick reply. I had done a lot of reading in the forums but somehow never ran across this piece of information!

All 129Fs and I130s are processed in either CSC or VSC (the other SCs work as pass throughs for these types of apps). The VSC ones are sent mostly directly there, and the CSC ones are either forwarded there or sent directly.

03/12/2007 - Married to my beautiful wife

04/16/2007 - Sent I-130 to VSC via USPS Express Mail

05/12/2007 - NOA1 received by snail mail after a loooong wait

05/14/2007 - Sent I-129F for K3 to Chicago Lockbox via USPS Express Mail

10/22/2007 - I129F APPROVED (161 days), I130 APPROVED (188 days)

11/08/2007 - I129F received at NVC, embassy case number generated.

11/13/2007 - I129F forwarded to embassy.

11/18/2007 - 129F petition received at embassy

01/09/2008 - finally, DOS gives me the interview date, April 16, 2007 (ouch)

01/23/2008 - never got packet 4, emailed embassy

04/11/2008 - picked up packet 4, did medical

04/14/2008 - medical report pickup, no problems

04/16/2008 - interview date- APPROVED!!!!!

04/18/2008 - both of us are home at last, POE JFK!

05/21/2008 - sent AOS and EAD

05/27/2008 - received NOA1 for AOS and for EAD

06/02/2008 - received Biometrics appt letter

06/19/2008 - Biometrics appointment scheduled - DONE

06/19/2008 - both AOS and EAD touched because of biometrics

07/29/2008 - EAD approved.

05/13/2009 - AOS Interview - APPROVED!/ Card production ordered email

05/18/2009 - Welcome Letter received

06/12/2009 - Second card production ordered email

I'm from OH too. I listed Nebraska as my filing local but it got sent to cali. Everyone's does. Ignore the processing times on the USCIS website for the most part since they are the last cases being processed, not the average. Our timelines tend to be closer to what to expect.

Why not do a time line search for couples who filed around the same time as you, whose SO is from the same country as yours. There you will find an approximate time, not an actual timeline of sorts. It will give you some idea of how long it takes for petitions from THAT particular consulate are processed. Hope that made sense...I've not had any coffee today. I'm all out of Tim Horton's. :(

Welcome. You'll probably find a lot more China timelines at http://www.candleforlove.com as well as good China specific support. Please tell them I sent you. Not running you off at all.

You would be wise to ignore the USCIS posted processing times. They reflect the submission date of the oldest petition in the center of that type, still not adjudicated. Usually those have some sort of problem or are waiting for further information from the petitioner. They just use those tables to avoid answering phone calls about petitions that are processing normally.
