Bona fide Marriage

Hello friends,

 

My husband and I are finally getting ready to submit out petition for his CR-1 Visa application, ahhh!!! In regards to a bona fide marriage, we have our marriage certificate, daughters birth certificate  letters from individuals in our lives giving their words on our relationship together, we have letters from our landlords stating that we have lived together, etc. We have a document full of pictures and I created a timeline, the only thing I cannot get is previous conversations throughout the duration of our relationship. I can get them from now and a few months ago but not in the beginning, anyone know if we do not submit conversations, is that going to be okay?

We never submitted conversations about anything. We lived in different countries.

If you live together and have a child together and are married that + a few wedding photos is more than enough.
 If you have any bills or property or bank or memberships together put that in too it will front load your petition for the interview.  Any financial co-mingling is good evidence of valid marriage at any stage in the process.

You have lived together? That’s more than most of us had before we completed this process. Most of us did the process just to be able to live together for the first time. 

 

Don’t bother with statements from friends and relatives. They are pretty worthless. Living together is the gold medal of bona fide evidence so focus on that. Tenancy agreement, utility bills, etc.
