Joint Sponsor - Passport

We've been approved for expedited processing.  I've submitted everything, except the I-864 and the I-864w.  My uncle is joint sponsoring my husband, as I do not meet the requirements for income.

My question is regarding the interview at the embassy.  I'm living overseas with husband and daughter, we can provide all the original documents, except for my UNCLE's passport... is taking his ORIGINAL passport and documentation submitted required (he only attached his tax returns, he didn't submit anything else because nothing else was needed)??  Or will the scanned copies suffice?

Your uncle's passport is not a requirement to be a sponsor. The only passport that should be submitted is your spouse to stamp for the visa if he's approved. Where did you read to submit a sponsor passport?

You still take your I-864 to the interview as you are the primary sponsor.    The uncle, of course, needs to submit an I-864 as well.

I may not have expressed myself correctly.

The embassy says we need to take all the ORIGINAL documents we have submitted. Evidence of my uncle's citizenship is his passport. It seems unreasonable to have to take his original passport to the interview. I'm assuming we don't have to do that, but I wanted to check first.

Evidence of the uncles citizenship can also be a US Birth Certificate or Naturalization Certificate.

I understand. My question is still the same...

We'd have to take his ORIGINAL documents to the embassy interview (be it passport or us birth certificate)? Or would scanned copies suffice?

For a joint sponsor, no originals are needed.
