Currently on administrative processing for 2 and half months for immigrant visa, is anyone else going through this dreadful wait or has anyone been through this an how long did it take?

Of course, many have. Administrative Process is nothing new. Unfortunately, nobody can predict how long it will take.

Administrative Processing (AP) can take days, weeks, months, years.... There are no set rules as to the length or shortness of AP. You can get it at almost anytime during the immigration process. It will be done when they (the bureaucrat - IO, CO) says that it is done, not a second sooner, and not a second later. There are cases in the Middle East and North Africa region that can over a year to complete anything, for example background checks, or possible affiliation with a terrorist organization, or possible fraud. There are folks waiting for years for their visas at the Guangzhou, China consulate due to their past membership or possible affiliation with the Communist party that have to be checked out to see if they are eligible for immigration to the US. The list seems endless but is well defined in the Immigration and Nationality Act of 1952, and must be researched and determined according to this group of laws, or it could be almost anything that they deem it is.

So, sit back and enjoy the break, 'cause it will be over, when they say it is over.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)
